Help in Haiti + Help in Baltimore
Neighbors Near & Far ® 374 Old Trail Road, Baltimore, MD 21212
Neighbors Near & Far was founded by Joyce and Ted Kruse to support the basic needs of our near neighbors (food banks in Baltimore, Maryland) and our far neighbors in Haiti (the work of CHRICHA and its orphanage Kay Papa Nou and Unity House.) The IRS granted Neighbors Near & Far 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status on January 19, 2012.
Neighbors Near & Far will take advantage of being a small charity. All work is done by volunteers. Joyce and Ted will not draw salaries from the charity. The charity is housed in their Baltimore row house, so no rent or utility costs will be charged to the charity. Our goal is to have very low overhead costs so the vast majority of the funds raised will go to supporting Kay Papa Nou Orphanage in Haiti and food banks in Baltimore.
Neighbors Near & Far is not interested in receiving any proposals from other organizations and plans to stay narrowly focused on basic needs.
Neighbors Near and Far is supported by individual donors as well as Brown Memorial Woodbrook Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, MD, and Hearts With Haiti in Raleigh, NC.
